Privacy Policy
What Albena and albena.ai collect, how it is used, and the choices you have.
1. Summary
Albena is built to be private by default. This site sets no cookies and has no trackers. We collect only a waitlist email if you give us one. Albena processes your information locally first, we never sell it, and we never use it for advertising. You can ask us to delete your data at any time.
2. What this website collects
albena.ai sets no cookies of its own and runs no analytics or advertising trackers. If you join the waitlist we collect the email address you submit; if you contact support we collect the name, email, topic and message you write. Both forms use Cloudflare Turnstile, a privacy-focused verification check that blocks automated spam; it loads only when you reach a form and is subject to Cloudflare’s own privacy policy. We use it to manage the waitlist, send early-access invitations and updates about Albena, and answer your messages. You can unsubscribe at any time. Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs (such as IP address and request time) for security and operations.
3. What Albena processes
When you use Albena, depending on what you turn on, she may process:
- Voice: audio after the wake phrase “Hey Albena,” and transcripts of your requests.
- Home and devices: device names, states and commands for smart-home products you connect.
- Calendar and mail: events, messages and drafts, only if you connect those accounts.
- Memory: preferences and facts you ask Albena to remember.
You decide what to connect, and you can disconnect it at any time.
4. Local-first processing
Albena runs on hardware in your home wherever possible, so audio, device data and memory are processed there first. When a request needs a more capable cloud AI model, only the information needed for that request is sent, to a provider acting on our behalf, and you will be told what leaves your home. Connected services such as email or calendar providers handle your data under their own policies.
5. How we use information
We use information to provide and improve Albena, secure the Services, communicate with you, and meet legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not use your voice, home, calendar or mail data for advertising or to train general AI models.
7. Retention and deletion
We keep waitlist emails until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them, or until early access ends. Data stored by Albena in your home stays under your control and can be removed in the app. To delete data we hold, email us and we will complete the request within 30 days, except where we must keep limited records by law.
8. Children
The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we will delete it. Parents and guardians who use Albena in a household are responsible for the people and devices they connect.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including encryption in transit, access controls and local-first design to limit what leaves your home. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please keep your devices and accounts protected.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example California under the CCPA/CPRA, or the EEA and UK under the GDPR), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, to withdraw consent, and to not be discriminated against for exercising your rights. We do not sell or share personal information for advertising. To make a request, email omar@dbaomarhuertasllc.com. We may need to verify your identity, and you may complain to your local data protection authority.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Albena evolves. We will change the date above and, for material changes, notify waitlist and early-access members by email.
